♡ Metropolitan Museum ≈ New York ♡



The Metropolitan Museum of Art, located in New York City, is the largest art museum in the United States  and one of the three largest in the world, with the most significant art collections. It was founded in 1870 and opened on 20 February 20, 1872.  The met measures almost 1/4- mile (400) long, and the interior is more than 2,000,000 square feet (190,000 m2) of floor space.

The cloisters museum and garden is the branch of the museum in northern Manhattan devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. Metropolitan Museum has permanent collection containing more than two million works of art, divided into nineteen curatorial departments.


The main building, located on the eastern edge pf Central Park along Manhattan's Museum Mile, is by are one of the largest art galleries. There is also a much smaller second location at "The cloiters" in upper Manhattan that Features Medieval Art.

The Museum id also home to encyclopedic collection of musical instrument, costumes and accessories  and antique weapons and armor from around the world.

 The iris B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden is located on the roof towards the south-eastern corner of the museum. It offer views of central park and the Manhattan Skyline, and features an annual summertime single artist sculpture exhibition. 


The garden's cafe and bar is a popular museum spot during the mild-weather land months, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings when large crowds can lead to long lines at the elevators.

This is best place to visit in the United States. four and a half million visitors came to peruse some of the world greatest art collection in Metropolitan Museum of Art.
